Chariots of Fire (1981)
Directed by Hugh Hudson, written by Colin Welland

This glorious, spirited film about running and life accomplished one of the grandest upsets in Oscar history. And it deserved its honors. Here's a sports movie with all the exhilaration of unlikely victories, yet fueled by spiritual debate and examples of life lived to the fullest. These are inspiring true stories of men who did more than run well...they dedicated themselves to faith and to excellence.
