Unforgiven (1992)
Directed by Clint Eastwood , written by David Webb Peoples

Summary by Alan Thomas of MoviesMatter

An "unWestern," this film deconstructs the vengeance plot often seen in the Western genre. Clint Eastwood examines the price paid by a man who becomes a killer. In doing so, he mocks pulp adventure books, and his own early work in the "spaghetti Westerns" and later work. A grim and disturbing portrait of a complex and frightening man.
